Insurance FAQs

Answers to common questions about quotes, cover, renewals, policy changes and claims.

Does submitting a quote form mean I am insured?

No. An enquiry or quotation request does not create cover. Cover starts only when the relevant insurer or intermediary process has been completed and cover has been confirmed.

Why do you ask so many questions?

Insurance pricing and terms depend on the risk. Accurate answers help the insurer assess the circumstances and help avoid misunderstandings later.

Should I tell you about previous claims?

Where asked, provide accurate and complete claims or loss information. If you are unsure what is relevant, tell us and we can discuss it.

What are exclusions and excesses?

Exclusions describe circumstances the policy does not cover. An excess is an amount you may need to pay towards a claim. The exact terms vary by policy.

What should I do if something changes during the policy?

Contact us promptly. Changes in property use, occupancy, business activity, security, employees or other circumstances may need to be reported.

Can you guarantee a claim will be paid?

No. Claims are assessed under the relevant policy wording and insurer claims process. We can support you with the process, but we cannot guarantee an outcome.

How do I complain?

See our Complaints Procedure for how to raise a complaint and what happens next.
